FASSTT’s national strategy sets out our shared vision for a trauma-informed Australia – where survivors of torture and refugee trauma can recover, rebuild, and thrive in safety and dignity.
Grounded in human rights, cultural responsiveness and lived experience, our strategic priorities focus on:
- Strengthening access to safe, effective trauma recovery services
- Embedding survivor voice in all levels of service design and policy
- Building sector capacity through collaboration, research and workforce development
- Driving system reform to ensure service responses are equitable and trauma-informed
- Promoting healing and belonging at individual, community, and systemic levels
This strategic framework guides our collective action across the national network, aligning local expertise with national impact. It reflects our ongoing commitment to partnership, justice and recovery – not just for individuals, but for the systems that surround them.
